Josh Nashed is the founder and CEO of Nexus Athlete Advising, which he launched in 2023 after a decade in Division I and professional baseball as both a player and coach. After finishing his pro career with the Cleveland Indians, Josh spent four seasons coaching at Saint Mary’s College in the West Coast Conference, where he was promoted in three consecutive seasons. In 2021 he became the youngest full-time assistant coach in the country at the Division I level, and a year later he was named the recruiting coordinator at SMC.
Josh played collegiately at San Jose State University before being selected in the MLB Draft. He also holds a master’s degree in Sports Management from Minot State University.
Fun Fact: Josh Nashed is the only known player of Egyptian descent to play affiliated professional baseball outside of Pittsburgh Pirates 1982 1st rounder Sam Khalifa. Josh’s grandfather moved to the United States from Cairo, Egypt in the early 1950’s.

His stops include: San Jose State, University of San Francisco, UC Davis, UC San Diego, SF State, Art U, Lewis & Clark, Willamette, & Menlo College.
Jimmy also specializes in college planning on the academic side as an academic counselor.

That said, we expect all of our student-athletes to take ownership of their recruiting process. Our team is here to educate, advise, plan, and assist with execution, but we will never be expected to want it more than you!
